Hope
Hope is a Certified Physician Assistant in the USA ("Clinical Officer" in Africa) and holds a master's degree in Health Science with a focus on Community Health Education. Her past experience in Zambia with promoting orphan support programs, literacy, organizing JESUS film crusades and discipleship training as well as providing TB care help her as she visits people involved in various AIDS related Ministries here in Kenya.
At Kijabe Hospital Hope is involved part time in the medical care of AIDS patients. She is also doing nutritional research among pediatric clients enrolled in the hospital's AIDS support program in Naivasha, about 30 minutes away from Kijabe. She hopes the findings of her research will pave the way towards increased nutritional supports for this community. She continues to be involved the 'HOPE for AIDS' program as its Prayer Coordinator, writing a monthly prayer guide and organizing an interdenominational community-based monthly prayer meeting in Nairobi.
Her greatest pride and joy are her four children who are now scattered over 2 continents. Parenting from a distance is a challenge. She prays that our next visit to the U.S. this December - to give Josiah a chance to visit potential college campuses - will yield an opportunity to spend time with each of our children before we return to Kenya.
